Highlights of Presentation and Discussion Items


The following items were presented to the Board:
Finance Report: As of February 28, 2018 the Board learned the system is at 66.59 percent for the budget year. The Special Purpose Local Option Sales Tax revenues for January 2018 were up 10.05 percent from 2017 collections and down 19.51 percent from last month. A financial statement, investment reports, and bond summaries were also shared, as well as a detailed capital projects analysis. 
Construction Update: Tom Wening, Director of Construction, presented the current Capital Program timeline showing the existing status for the renovations at various elementary, middle and high schools as well as updates on new construction.  Click here  for the presentation.
SEL Update-  A presentation was made by various departments regarding social emotional learning.  This includes students, faculty, parents and our community.  Goals were outlined to achieve this foundation to academic and career success.  This impacts all district departments, schools, classrooms and homes.  Programs school's are providing were detailed along with department programs including Teaching & Learning, Special Education, Human Resources, Student Support and Safety.  Next steps were also outlined. Click here for the presentation.

Delegate and Alternate GSBA Summer Conference 2018: The Board approved by unanimous vote for Ann Crow to be the delegate and Tom Cleveland the alternate.
